Showzam offers Postcode Promotion for special La Clique preview.

Discounted tickets will be available for those with an FY postcode for a special preview on February 10th

Members of the public with an FY postcode are being given the unique opportunity to purchase discounted tickets for a special preview showing of La Clique at Blackpool’s Showzam festival on Wednesday, February 10th.

Headlining Showzam in their first show in England outside of London, La Clique’s heady cocktail of cabaret, new burlesque, circus sideshow and contemporary variety has taken the world by storm with sell-out seasons in Sydney, Melbourne, Montreal, Dublin, New York, Edinburgh, and Paris. Approximately 150,000 people were seduced by La Clique’s charms during its residency at the London Hippodrome.

Taking place in an intimate setting, audience members can expect to get up close and personal with the performers. While some entertainers will provide acrobatics from above, others will speed past the crowd and some will just create outbursts of laughter. Magic, opera, dance and comedy all have a place within the show but whatever the act, the beauty of La Clique is not knowing what to expect next.

Tickets for the show on the 10th February are only on offer for people with an FY postcode. They are available to buy in person for either £10, £8 or £6 from the Tower Information Centre on Bank Hey Street in Blackpool Town Centre.

There is no limit to the number of tickets purchased per person. However, it is a first come first serve basis and proof of address must be shown at the time of purchase.

Claire Turner, Head of Planning for Showzam, said; “Getting La Clique to perform at Showzam is a real coup for the festival and we wanted to provide everyone in the locality with an opportunity to come along and see them. This promotion will hopefully encourage people to come and see a not-to-be-missed performance from one of the finest groups of New Variety performers on the circuit.

“La Clique have expressed a real interest in coming to Blackpool and I am confident that the Show on the 10th will be the perfect way to open their run at Showzam. Tickets for this show have sold out around the country and I would encourage people to get their tickets while they still can!”

Taking place during February half-term (Friday 12th – Sunday 21st February 2010), Showzam will feature some of the world’s most exciting and talented artists appearing across Blackpool.

Other confirmed acts and shows include Spymonkey, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, La Machine, Ockham’s Razor and Walk the Plank. Showzam will also see Blackpool’s historic Winter Garden’s transformed into Showzam Central a free area where visitors will get to experience restored, traditional sideshows from the 1950s, The Insect Museum, an Edwardian flea circus, live cabaret and new variety performances, and film screenings. It will also host Humbug - an exclusive exhibition focussing on the 200th anniversary of infamous American showman and circus founder PT Barnum.
