La Clique confirmed for Blackpool Showzam Festival

La Clique confirmed for Blackpool Showzam Festival for first ever show in the UK’s home of variety Blackpool Tower Circus, 12th-20th February 2010

Following a hugely successful nine months at the London Hippodrome and a Christmas season at the Camden Roundhouse, La Clique will return to the UK to headline visitBlackpool’s 2010 Showzam festival of magic, circus and new variety.

Approximately 150,000 people were seduced by La Clique’s charms during its residency at the London Hippodrome, and the production grossed well in excess of £3.5 million. Winner of the 2009 Olivier Award for Best Entertainment, La Clique was hailed by Time Out as ‘spellbinding, sexy and stunning’ and ‘the best show in town’. It was recently featured in the Cool Brands report - a survey of the UK’s most influential cultural assets and icons.

La Clique showcases the crème de la crème of twisted cabaret entertainers from around the world and with an ever-changing line-up BlaCkpool audiences are guaranteed a thrilling and unique theatrical experience every night.

Brett Haylock, La Clique’s Australian creative producer and MC, said: “We are incredibly excited to be coming to Blackpool. For a show that has pioneered the reinvention of the variety format, we’re thrilled to be coming to the spiritual home of variety in the UK, and to be playing at such an iconic and beautiful venue as the Tower Circus. There is a great sense of anticipation amongst the artists of La Clique as Showzam’s international reputation continues to grow.”

marawa and chocolatvisitBlackpool’s Claire Turner said: “Securing La Clique as one of the headline acts is a major coup for Showzam as they are one of the most creative and exciting theatrical companies in the world. Their dynamic mix of circus, cabaret and variety comes to its ideal home in Blackpool’s stunning Tower Circus venue, and its presence at Showzam will add even more buzz to the festival. Every night of their residency will be one to remember, and people should book as early as possible to catch as they often sell out.”
