North Pier Hosts Showzam Fringe

The Merrie England will again this year play host to Showzam’s fringe cabaret events with three evenings that will include magic from some of the country’s greatest illusionists, music and comedy from one of the first ladies in country (well, she thinks so!) and a live gig from four guys in beachwear!

Blackpool’s annual Showzam festival brings together the skills and talents of world-famous performers from circus, magic and new variety; and North Pier’s Merrie England Bar is proud to present Showzam Fringe: Cabaret on North Pier; a collection of three very entertaining, very different and very magnificent shows.

Monday 13th February will see award-winning magician Steve Faulkner bring his critically acclaimed show Magic Monday to the Merrie. Joining Steve will be the first man to fool Penn and Teller, John Archer, and Alan Hudson who won the title of Hackney Empire’s New Act of the Year 2010. There will be a few surprise guests at Magic Monday – a family show that promises to be an unforgettable evening full of laughter and astonishment.

Tina C is a global country music superstar and she is coming to Blackpool’s Merrie England on Thursday 16th February to sing, play and make you laugh with hit songs that include the famous If You Can't Live Without Me (Why Weren't You Dead When I Met You) and many more. Expect rousing political dissections of the state of the world, lots of laughs, beautiful songs and sing-a-longs. Tina C can currently be heard in her award-winning BBC Radio 4 series. This show is for over 18s only.

The Bikini Beach Band will be twanging their way through original retro classics and contemporary hits - imagine Kylie, Radiohead or Nirvana in a Pulp Fiction style. Their wild beach-styled costumes, crazy dances and deadpan humour never fail to get the audience smiling, singing and dancing with glee. The Bikini Beach Band’s performance is suitable for families.
