Getting Around Blackpool

Bike riding on Blackpool Promenade

On foot

The best way to get around the town, especially during Showzam is on foot. With loads of entertainment happening throughout town centre, including street performers, walking from one great Showzam event to another is the only way to guarantee you don’t miss a thing!

By bus

Bus services connect most hotels to all the attractions.

The Tourist Information Centre and Blackpool Transport Services’ office on Market Street (behind the Town Hall, next to BHS) have timetables and discounted fare passes.

Get yourself a Metroguide bus map, which is also a convenient street map.

Discounted travel passes for buses and trams can be purchased for 1, 3, 5 and 7 days.

By bike

Blackpool is brilliant for cyclists - the resort is full of exciting places to visit by pedal power and there’s handy cycle parking in the town centre, at many attractions and shops.

And there’s no need to bring your bike with you, as Blackpool has recently installed hundreds of bikes available for hire 24/7 from automated hubs along the promenade and inland around Stanley Park. Simply register and pay at www.hourbike.com/blackpool  or by calling 01253 320094; take your code along to one of the hubs and off you go! There are hourly and daily rates available and discounts for group bookings!

By taxi

There are taxi ranks throughout the town centre, and most accommodation providers, theatres and attractions will provide a freephone line to a local taxi service.

By car

Blackpool encourages everyone in the resort to use more environmentally friendly forms of transport whilst here.

If you must use your own vehicle to get around, then there are short and long stay car parks throughout the resort.
